Fort Technology started in the computer arena in 1984 in Vermilion, Alberta, operating as Manning Contracting Ltd. At that time, it had one employee providing network and computer support on a part time basis to local businesses and residential households. The business expanded to serve customers both locally and out of town and was responsible for IT hardware and purchasing recommendations and implementations for a wide variety of clients including education, financial, commercial, and government clients.
In 2002, Fort Technology became involved in providing Senior Analyst services on a contractual basis to various clients. These services involved network design, network administration, and setup/configuration of servers and workstations.
In the fall of 2003, Fort Technology opened up a full time business in Fort Saskatchewan specializing in providing all types of support (full or part-time) to various businesses in the Fort Saskatchewan, Sherwood Park, and Edmonton areas. In the last four years, we have grown to five experienced Network support analysts and support personnel. We are concentrating on providing full and part-time network support services to small to medium organizations or businesses.
In the spring of 2011, Fort Technology began offering Electronic Medical Records Office management system (EMR) to various medical professions.
In October 2011, Fort Technology implemented a public cloud infrastructure using VMWare 5 and VCloud Director. We will be able to provide individual server requirements or setup an organization where the customer can create a virtual office. They can manage it themselves and we can provide network services to them.
