Arrival Of The Technician

 

The Technician will upon their arrival:

  • review the work to be performed while they are there and the rate charged.
  • confirm which credit card will be used to pay once the work is completed. 

 

The customer acknowledges that they will be expected to pay for the service before the technician leaves unless other arrangements have been made in writing previous to the technician coming to the site.


CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITIES

 

An adult (18 years of age) must be present during the entire installation or repair process.  If the technician arrives at the scheduled time and no adult is present, or if the adult leaves prior to the service being completed, the technician may depart and you will be subject to the stated on-site service charge.  You must be available to type in all passwords for security purposes.  Fort Technology Group accepts NO responsibility for data loss, loss of use, disruption of business activities, or other consequential damages.  The Customer is aware and agrees that formatting/recovering the hard drive will permanently erase all files and data.


Customer is solely responsible for the proper backup of data and files prior to the technician arriving on-site.  Any hardware devices, components, peripherals, software or cabling needed for the installation must be arranged for by the customer.  If network connectivity is desired for multiple devices, the customer must have purchased or pre-arranged for a router, hub, modem or switch with adequate number of ports to support the required number of devices.  ISP/Internet or home network connection must be activated and working properly prior to any related installation.  The customer may need to arrange for the technician to visit the site prior to the actual installation and confirm with the customer what they need to have done.   There would be an on-site charge for the site visit.


All equipment being provided by the customer for the installation must be located in the general area where the installation is taking place.  The technician mus be given immediate access to the equipment so the service can begin as scheduled.  Customer must provide adequate environment (power, space, etc.) for the scheduled on-site service.  Customers are responsible for providing power cords, surge protectors, or Uninterrupted Power Supplies (UPS) or making prior arrangement with the technician to bring the devices etc. with him.  The Customer must have available all legally licensed software and media that may be required.


The technician will not perform any installation/repair on software that is illegal or on workstations that contain child pornography.  The technician is required by law to report any such findings to the local authorities.

LIABILITY IS LIMITED ONLY TO THE WORK PERFORMED

Data migration to a new PC or hard drive is available for an additional fee.  The Customer is responsible for the removal of any packing materials or other trash.


ON-SITE SERVICE WARRANTY


Fort Technology warranties its workmanship for a period of 30 days from the service date.  Fort Technology Group is not responsible for issues due to setting changes, new software upgrades, new Microsoft updates/patches, ISP connection issues, relocation, viruses or spyware issues or misuse.  An additional trip is not covered by the warranty will be subject to additional on-site charges.  This warranty may be voided if the customer does not have/maintain the proper protection against such threats as viruses, spyware, and adware.
